Future musician?

Due Date
Today is Reed's original due date. He was born 5 weeks before his due date, but did not have a low birth weight like most preemies and he has definitely done a good job of catching up so far. Unfortunately weight is not indicative of development of organs.
Reed:
Birth 5lb 15oz
2 weeks 6lb 15oz
Currently 9lb 9oz
Arden:
Birth 6lb 13oz
2 weeks 7lb 15oz
2 months 11lb 5oz
When Reed came home from the hospital at 8 days old he was drinking 1.5 to 2 ounces every 3 hours (8 bottles per day) even though we usually had to wake him up to eat.
He has now worked up to 4 to 5 ounces every 3 to 4 hours (usually 7 bottles per day - sometimes only 6 though). Based on his impressive weight gain, we let him go as long as he wants at night and up to 4 hours between feedings a couple of the bottles during the day (we are testing him to see if he can run his own schedule and get enough to eat in a day and he can unless he's extra tired).
Doctors say that babies born premature typically develop based on their adjusted age for awhile (and sometimes until they are a couple years old). For example, a baby that was born 5 months ago, but was 2 months premature would have an adjusted age of only 3 months. Since Reed was a late preterm it's expected that he will catch up developmentally pretty quickly. We won't be able to tell if he is on track for a few more months when he starts getting to the point of developmental milestones. He is however having more periods of being awake and alert (and sometimes fussy) rather than sleeping constantly in between feedings, so he is making some progress away from his preemie and newborn behavior.

Snake
I heard a strange sound outside, but didn't know what it was. A few minutes later one of the neighbors called me and said she witnessed something strange happen with our air conditioner, which immediately made me think that something broke with it and I started imagining the costly repairs that would be needed. I was relieved to find out that nothing with the unit was broken, but there definitely needed to be some maintenance done after the incident.
The neighbor proceeded to tell me that she was outside and saw a bird carrying snake in its mouth fly over and land on our air conditioning unit and then it proceeded to drop the snake into the AC unit, which was running at the time (meaning the fan on the outside unit was running). The strange noise I heard apparently was the snake getting whipped around in the fan blade and chopped up...GROSS! The chopped up end was the tail so the head and front half of the snake wrapped itself around a tube in the AC unit in an attempt to escape. You can see the splattered blood in the photos below and one of the fan blades in the last photo.
I think it's so bizarre that this happened (especially when the AC unit fan was running) and even more shocking that someone was outside to witness it!
Brandon enlisted the help of the teenage boys next door to remove the AC unit cover and clean out the snake remains. Those boys sure have an interesting story to share with their friends at school tomorrow.

Baby "costumes"
Reed's grandma crocheted some special items for him to wear for cute photos (I got the ideas for from Pinterest). The photos didn't turn out as good as they could have, but with our very basic photography skills and not setting up an official photo friendly "staging area" these will have to do....we think that Reed can look adorable in anything anyways.
