Today was a big day for Arden as he officially got cleared of two health related issues. He is no longer allergic to eggs and he does not have tubes in his ears anymore.
He had a food challenge for his egg allergy today (homemade french toast and scrambled egg). He did not have a reaction so his egg allergy is either gone or so low that he no longer needs to avoid eggs at all. He has been having eggs in baked goods for the past year but now he can have mayo, salad dressings, french toast and even raw cookie dough (even though the doctor did say that she recommends that everyone avoid cookie dough and other raw egg items). Arden loved the french toast but did not like the taste of the scrambled egg. We have been told that a lot of kids with egg allergies never like eggs because of the unusual texture so we will just have to wait to see if Arden grows to like eggs by themselves.
As for the ear tubes, over the past few months the pediatrician has told us that the tubes were getting loose but the ENT confirmed today that both ears have fully lost the tubes and are clear. Now we just have to wait an see if his ears are developed enough to drain on their own so he doesn't get ear infections.
